Therapy That Goes Beyond Just Coping
Therapy can be a place to slow things down, understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and begin making meaningful changes.
I work especially well with adults who are insightful, capable, and accustomed to handling a lot, but who may also struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, unresolved trauma, grief, relationship patterns, or significant life changes.
Our work may include helping you:
- Understand patterns of anxiety, overthinking, and emotional overwhelm
- Process difficult or traumatic experiences
- Navigate grief, loss, and unexpected life changes
- Build healthier boundaries without excessive guilt
- Reduce perfectionism and the pressure to always get things right
- Strengthen self-trust and emotional regulation
- Recognize relationship patterns that may no longer serve you
- Feel more grounded during seasons of uncertainty or transition
Therapy isn’t about becoming a completely different person. Often, it’s about understanding yourself more clearly and creating more room for the parts of you that have been buried beneath responsibility, survival, or other people’s expectations.
Red Cedar Therapy now offers online counseling to adults located in Georgia.
Online Trauma Therapy and EMDR
Past experiences don’t always stay neatly in the past.
Trauma sometimes shows up as anxiety, hypervigilance, avoidance, intrusive thoughts, difficulty trusting yourself, strong emotional reactions, or feeling as though your nervous system is always preparing for the next problem.
When appropriate, therapy may incorporate EMDR and other trauma-informed approaches to help you process experiences that continue to affect your present life.
We will work collaboratively and at a pace that supports emotional safety rather than rushing into difficult material before you’re ready.
Online Therapy That Fits Into Real Life
All sessions for Georgia clients are provided virtually, allowing you to meet from a private location within the state of Georgia.
Online therapy may be especially helpful if you:
- Have a demanding professional or academic schedule
- Live in an area with limited access to therapists who specialize in your concerns
- Prefer the privacy and convenience of meeting from home
- Recently relocated and are looking for a therapist who understands major life transitions
- Want specialized support without adding another commute to your week
Virtual counseling can still be deeply personal, collaborative, and effective. You’ll receive the same intentional care and individualized treatment approach without needing to travel to an office.
Can I Work With a Tennessee Therapist if I Live in Georgia?
Yes!
Crystal Owens, MS, LPC-MHSP, holds an active Tennessee counseling license and has been granted the privilege to practice professional counseling in Georgia through the Counseling Compact.

This allows clients who are physically located in Georgia at the time of their session to receive online counseling services from Crystal.
Fees and Insurance for Georgia Clients
Online therapy for Georgia clients is currently offered on a private-pay basis.
This allows us to focus treatment decisions on your individual needs rather than insurance requirements. Documentation for out-of-network reimbursement may be available when appropriate, although reimbursement depends on your individual insurance plan and is not guaranteed.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you have questions about fees or payment before scheduling.
Is Online Therapy in Georgia Right for You?
You don’t need to have the perfect words for what you’re experiencing before reaching out.
Sometimes people begin therapy knowing exactly what they want to work on. Others simply know that they’re tired of feeling anxious, disconnected, overwhelmed, or caught in patterns they haven’t been able to change on their own.
A consultation gives us an opportunity to briefly discuss what you’re looking for, answer questions, and determine whether working together feels like a good fit.
